    Over the semester we will discuss and explore socioeconomic factors and literacy learning. Over the semester some ideas that will be discussed are the characteristics of children in poverty, why they struggle, what their key challenges are, what research says about their literacy learning possibilities, and potential learning environments and activities that support their literacy learning.
